The adult is about 1 inch in length and the female has rudimentary wings. The male has fully developed wings though neither male nor female fly.

This is mostly an outdoor roach that lives in high moisture areas.

Most movement is seen in the Spring when the weather warms and harborage areas start to dry.

Females are far more numerous than males and pairing takes place any season.

The brown egg capsule contains 16 eggs and is carried from 12 hours to 5 days and is then deposited in a warm sheltered spot where food in available.

The average incubations period is 60 days; the average development period is 12 months with adults appearing mostly in May, June, and July.

Females can live as long as 181 days.

These roaches feed on filth and decaying organic matter.

They can live 1 month without food and 2 weeks without water.

The regular Pest-A-Way Barrier will control most infestations of Oriental cockroaches on the exterior, however, if interior infestations are a problem the technician will treat the interior as well. In addition one of our  Technicians will advise the customer on ways to help eliminate harborage points that may be contributors to the problem.
